A practical checklist for cctv and security audit checklist.
When to use it
Use this checklist before a shift, before a contractor task, during weekly inspections or after a layout change. It should create a clear record of what was checked and what needs action.
Checklist
- Confirm the area is clean, lit and free from obvious obstructions.
- Check pedestrian routes, crossings, exclusion zones and signs.
- Look for damaged racking, pallets, guards, bollards or dock equipment.
- Verify emergency exits, extinguishers and access paths are clear.
- Record defects with photos, responsible person and due date.
- Escalate any uncontrolled immediate risk before work continues.
- Review whether CCTV, lighting or access records are needed for follow-up.
- Check camera view, time/date, recording status and retention period.
- Confirm users, passwords and remote access are still appropriate.

Record keeping
Record the date, inspector, area, defects, action owner and completion evidence. Do not leave issues sitting in a checklist without allocating responsibility.
